Astragalus and Metabolic Liver Support
Share
Traditional herbal preparations have long used astragalus root for general vitality and metabolic support. In Livana it is one of the seven LivaSorb botanicals.
What the research looked at
One animal study used a high-fat-diet model of fatty liver disease to test how astragalus polysaccharide affected bile-acid regulation and liver fat accumulation. Researchers also reviewed a broader body of scientific literature on astragalus and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease markers.
Why it matters for Livana
The animal research found astragalus polysaccharide helped regulate bile acids and reduced markers of fatty liver in the high-fat-diet model. As with chanca piedra and burdock, this evidence comes from animal models rather than completed human clinical trials. We include astragalus in LivaSorb for its traditional use profile and mechanistic evidence, alongside the other six botanicals in the blend.
